Premier League champions Chelsea start defence at home to Burnley

Champions Chelsea kick off the defence of their Premier League title at home to Burnley.

Antonio Conte’s Blues face the Clarets at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the season which begins on August 12.

Tottenham miss out on starting the season at Wembley, instead having the longest of their season as they travel to newly-promoted Newcastle United.

Their first Premier League match at home is against Chelsea the following week.

Manchester United begin against West Ham at Old Trafford while neighbours Manchester City will be the first team to visit Brighton’s Amex Stadium for a Premier League match.

Arsenal – who failed to qualify for the Champions for the first time this century – begin their season at home to 2016 champions Leicester City.

Huddersfield, who are back in the top flight for the first time since 1972, are at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool, back in the Champions League under Jurgen Klopp, start away at Watford while Everton entertain Stoke at Goodison Park.

Southampton host Swansea and West Brom are at home to Bournemouth in the other matches.

On Boxing Day Chelsea are at home to Brighton, Palace entertain Arsenal and Tottenham have a Wembley clash with Southampton.

Manchester United are at home to Burnley and Manchester City travel to Newcastle.

The pick of the New Year’s Day games sees Arsenal play Chelsea at the Emirates with Brighton taking on Bournemouth in a South Coast derby.

Chelsea complete their season away at Newcastle on May 13 2018, with Liverpool playing host to Brighton, Tottenham ending their Wembley stint against Leicester City and Manchester United signing off against Watford at Old Trafford.
