Premier League final day – LIVE!

West Ham have secured qualification for next season’s Europa League by finishing in the top six of the Premier League for the first time this century.

David Moyes’ side needed only a point against Southampton on the final day of the 2020/21 campaign to guarantee a place in European football’s secondary club competition.

Pablo Fornals ended up notching a first-half brace to remove any tension from the situation, with Declan Rice also on the scoresheet in an impressive 3-0 triumph in front of 10,000 jubilant returning fans at the London Stadium.

Joining West Ham in the Europa League next season is Leicester, who agonisingly missed out on qualification for the Champions League on the final day for the second season in succession following a 4-2 home defeat by Tottenham.

That win over the FA Cup winners saw Spurs finish seventh and book a place in the inaugural Europa Conference League, with Arsenal condemned to eighth and a first season without any European football whatsoever for 25 years, despite overcoming Brighton.
