PREP ROUNDUP: Wildcats pin Vikings on Senior NIght

Dec. 14—South Vermillion honored 11 seniors in high school wrestling Thursday, then completed the evening by beating West Vigo 60-19.

Pins for the Wildcats were recorded by Alex Shryock, senior Colt Doan, Jacob Whitlow and Gavin Martin.

The Vikings, who gave up six matches because of forfeits, got pins from Chase Hedden and Easton Roberts and decisions won by Jordan Krause and Aiden Boyles.

Girls basketball

—Linton 39, Shakamak 26 — In a battle for first place in the Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference, the Miners and their defense prevailed Thursday.

Bradie Chambers had 25 points and Sydney Jerrells 11 for Linton, now 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the SWIAC. The Miners host Mitchell on Saturday afternoon.

Aubrie Lambermont had 11 points for the Lakers, 10-4 and 4-1. Shakamak is idle until playing at Mitchell on Dec. 30.

—Parke Heritage 58, Riverton Parke 17 — At Mecca, the Wolves overcame the absence of Raegan Ramsay by beating their county rival in a Wabash River Conference game Thursday.

Emma Simpson had 28 points plus seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals and Addilee Jenkins scored nine for Parke Heritage, now 11-3 and 3-0. The Wolves play Clay City on Dec. 22 at Northview.

Riverton Parke, 4-7 and 0-3, plays Covenant Christian on Dec. 22 at the Carroll (Flora) Tournament.
