Preps: Bluefield beats WW 58-43 in Lil Tony Classic rematch game

Feb. 6—BRUSHFORK — The Woodrow Wilson boys basketball team had a terrific Friday night against Bluefield at the Beckley Convention Center on Friday night.

The Beavers had a fabulous payback win against the Flying Eagles on Saturday night.

Glen Keene fired up 19 points and Kamron Gore scored 18 and Bluefield beat Beckley 58-43 in the final game of Saturday's Lil Tony Classic at Brushfork Armory.

Gore, who'd been confined to eight points during Friday's 64-60 loss at Beckley, also had eight rebounds for the Beavers (9-3) while doling out five assists.

RJ Hairston scored 13 points with 13 rebounds, distributing five assists for Bluefield.

Zyon Hawthorne led the Eagles with 19 points and six rebounds. Elijah Redfern, who scored 18 points for Beckley in Friday's win, was confined to eight points and five rebounds on Saturday.

MCA 65, Tazewell 36

BRUSHFORK — MJ Patton scored 24 points with six rebounds, four assists and five steals and the Cavaliers picked up a win over the Bulldogs in Lil Tony Classic action on Saturday.

Eli Patton scored 16 points, Kyle Carpenter scored 10 points and Isaac Sharp scored eight.

Matt Clifton fired up 13 points to pace Tazewell.

Pike View 74, Liberty 45

GARDNER — Jared Vestal scored 17 points and the PikeView boys rolled to a lopsided win over the Raiders on Friday.

David Thomas scored 13 points for the Panthers. Zach Rose added eight points.

Riley Marty led Liberty with 14 points. Jadon Acord scored 10.

Beckley Park 29

BECKLEY — Brystal Winfrey scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and the Lady Tigers picked up a road win at Beckley Park.

Gia Twitty scored 10 points with seven rebounds for Princeton (14-1) while Addison McCabe had 10 points, four steals and Maddy Anderson had 11 rebounds.

Zoey Williams fired up 20 points to pace Beckley Park.
