Following the PS5 announcement this week, UK retailers Game and Amazon have all sold out of their allocated pre-orders for the console, with Argos yet to open orders.

Sony's PS5 Showcase ended with the price and release date reveal of the next-generation console and pre-orders officially opened at 11pm.

By 1am BST this morning, GAME sold out of pre-orders, with Amazon following suit soon after. Argos has a page set up, but pre-orders will go live on Friday.

Sony's next-gen console isn't scheduled for release until November 12 in the US and November 19 in the UK and Europe, but it seems like you'll have to wait for a new batch of pre-orders to make sure you can get the console

The price was revealed during a live stream on September 16, with two consoles going on sale.

Sony announced that the regular PS5 console costs £449, while a cheaper, digital-only console is £359.

Since selling out already, GAME customers may now register their interest and be the first to get their hands on the next allocation drop here.

Over at Amazon, both the normal console and the digital one are sold out, with no word on when either will be back in stock.

The same is true on Argos, which is only going to open up pre-orders on Friday, September 18.

At the time of writing, two places, however, still have some PS5 consoles available for pre-order:

Sony's live stream yesterday gave us the first look at Final Fantasy XVI, the long-rumoured Hogwarts Legacy and much more.
