'I need to push on in my career' - Wycombe Wanderers sign striker on free transfer

Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Shrewsbury Town striker Daniel Udoh on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old, who has represented his native Nigeria at youth level, arrives at Adams Park after five years with the Salops, where he scored 38 times in 181 matches.

He becomes the club’s eighth signing this summer, following the acquisitions of Alex Hartridge, Jaiden Bartolo, Jack Matton, Nathan Bishop, Brody Peart, Tyreeq Bakinson and Daniel Harvie respectively.

Manager Matt Bloomfield told the club’s media outlets: “Dan has got a great eye for goal and works extremely hard for the team, so we’re thrilled that he’s agreed to begin a new chapter in his career by moving to Wycombe and strengthening our attacking options.

“He’s been a handful for our defence whenever we’ve come up against him down the years and we’ve been tracking his progress for some time.

"Adding someone of his calibre to our frontline is another great step forward for us in this transfer window and I think the fans will take him to their hearts quickly.”

Udoh, who has also played for 14 different teams prior to his move to Buckinghamshire, said: “I want to push on have a new challenge.

“The plans and the ambition of where Wycombe are at right now match where I want to go to as I’m 27, turning 28.

“I need to push on in my career.”

His move remains subject to EFL and FA approval.
