The Champions League group stage has reached its business end, with the fourth round of fixtures out of the way and the first teams having booked their places in the knockout stages after Christmas.

In matchday four, Bayern Munich and Juventus became the first teams to secure their last-16 places, beating Benfica and Zenit St. Petersburg, respectively, to take their records to a perfect four wins from four games. Ajax and Liverpool then followed suit.

On Tuesday, Manchester United sealed their passage with a 2-0 win at Villarreal before Chelsea’s romp past Juventus bagged their place in the Group H top two.

Manchester City booked their place in the next round as group winners by coming from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, which also sealed Les Parisiens’ place in the last-16.

Sporting CP’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund meant they will follow Ajax out of Group C while wins for Real Madrid and Inter Milan settled the top two in Group D.
