Rallying: Sordo wins in Sardinia for second year in a row

(Reuters) - Hyundai's Dani Sordo won Rally Italy Sardinia for the second year in a row on Sunday with Toyota's Elfyn Evans retaining the world championship lead.

Spaniard Sordo, driving his second rally of the season, held off Belgian team mate Thierry Neuville to win by 5.1 seconds with Toyota's Sebastien Ogier finishing third and a second further back.

Welshman Evans, who took two bonus points in the closing power stage won by reigning champion Ott Tanak, was fourth and more than a minute off the leader's pace.

Evans now has 111 points, with Ogier on 97 and Neuville 87 with two of the season's eight rounds remaining. Hyundai lead the manufacturers' standings with 208 points to Toyota's 201.
