Rangers will travel to the Netherlands to face Ajax in a pre-season friendly next month - but the game WON'T be played at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

The Dutch giants confirmed today that they will face the Light Blues in a 3pm UK time kick-off on Saturday July 13. But Gers fans planning on a weekend trip to Amsterdam could have to make a 220km round-trip to the city of Wezep. That's because the game will be held at the 500-capacity Mulderssingel sports park as Ajax gear up for the new season by travelling across the country.

Ticket details for away supporters have yet to be announced and it's unclear whether any will be made available for Rangers fans. It's the fourth summer friendly the club have lined up as Philippe Clement's side prepare for a hectic start to the 2024/25 campaign.

Gers will begin their quest for title glory on the weekend of August 3/4, with the SPFL due to release fixtures on Thursday June 27. The Ibrox side also have some powderkeg European games to contend with as they enter the Champions League third qualifying round, with the two-legged ties to be played in August.

Before that though, the League Cup winners have arranged some warm-up fixtures for the new season, starting off with Ajax next month. Gers then have a glamour friendly against Manchester United at Murrayfield on Saturday July 20 before making the trip to Birmingham City four days later.

The Glasgow giants will then hope on a plane to Germany to take on Union Berlin on Saturday July 27, which is likely to be their final friendly before the competitive action starts.
