RANGERS flop Joey Barton has taken aim at Gourock footballer Greg Taylor in a bizarre and explicative-laden rant.

The Englishman's foul-mouthed diatribe came as he recalled the moment when the then-Kilmarnock star saw a red card after sending Barton flying at Rugby Park.

One of Barton's eight appearances during his short spell at Rangers in 2016 was a 1-1 draw in the league against Kilmarnock, where he was on the receiving end of a poor tackle from Taylor.

The incident has now been dragged back up after the scouser responded to a clip of Taylor's crunching tackle on X, claiming that the Celtic left back had tried to break his leg.

The 41-year-old then threatened to 'slap' Taylor if they crossed paths 'in the wild'.

The red card Taylor received for his tackle on Barton remains the only red card of his senior career - with the defender going on to earn caps for Scotland and win a treble with Celtic.

Taylor enjoyed a successful career at Kilmarnock before signing for Celtic in the summer of 2019 and has won several cups and league titles since.
