Rangers star named as new Wolves signing Rodrigo Gomes' toughest EVER opponent as Ibrox atmosphere singled out

Wolves have secured the signing of Portuguese wide man Rodrigo Gomes.

And the new man's unveiling video has including quite a heavy Rangers link. The English Premier League side's social media team put the 20-year-old on the spot with a series of quickfire questions which resulted him bringing up the Ibrox side in answer to more than one question.

The Portugal Under-21's star came up against Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Light Blues in the Europa League when the Dutchman and his side were en route to the final. After losing 1-0 in the first leg, Gers showed that remarkable spirit they often have in Europe to win 3-1 in at home and make it through to the semi-finals.

Tavernier was the top scorer in the whole competition that year and was on his usual form that night as he bagged two, opening the scoring after just two minutes and then later adding a penalty. That took it to extra-time where Kemar Roofe was the hero.

Gomes would have been directly up against the Ibrox skipper that night and the Englishman certainly left an impression on him.

Asked for the best player he has ever come up against, he replied: "Maybe Tavernier." He then went on to name the atmosphere that night as the best he has experienced.
