Rangers have already added three new signings this summer but Philippe Clement wants more business done early.

Brazilian left-back Jefte, Oscar Cortes and AC Milan defender Clinton Nsiala have all signed up for next season at Ibrox and it might not be long before another arrival joins them. The Scottish Sun reported earlier today that the Light Blues are in pole position to land out-of-contract Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron.

The Scotland Under-21 starlet has options across Europe, with clubs in Italy and England interested in his services. But it's said that the 21-year-old could now be ready to cut short his holiday in Portugal in order to undergo a medical and thrash out his move to Glasgow.

Barron's potential switch comes as Damian Garcia prepares to commit his future to Penarol. The 20-year-old playmaker has been linked with a move to Ibrox as Clement seeks to replace departed duo Ryan Jack and John Lundstram in the middle of the park. Highly-rated Garcia has established himself as a key player with Penarol but negotiations over an extended contract had stalled, with his current deal expiring in December.

Gers have been keeping close tabs on the South American market, having already poached Jefte from Fluminense but Uruguayan media reported today that the youngster is set to put pen to paper on a new one-year deal, which will include an exit clause of around £7.7million - all but scuppering an imminent move to Govan.

While another midfielder is a priority, boss Clement is also eager to bolster his attacking options and recruitment chief Nils Koppen is said to be a fan of Albion Rrahmani. The Kosovo international, 23, looks poised to leave Rapid Bucharest this summer in what is a major blow to new boss Neil Lennon, who will hold out for top dollar.

Romanian agent Cristian Cernodolea reckons Rangers could be forced to stump up around £6million to land Rrahmani, revealing offers are already on the table for the frontman.
