Roberto De Zerbi said Albion conceded two poor goals against Chelsea – and should have had a penalty.

But he praised his injury-hit side in a 2-1 defeat at the Amex.

Danny Welbeck’s near-post finish gave late hope after Cole Palmer and Christoper Nkunku scored for the visitors.

Adingra appeared to be fouled in the box early in the second half.

Albion boss De Zerbi said: “It was a clear penalty on Adingra. We conceded two bad goals.

“The first goal we conceded, in ten players we made a pressure too strong with Julio, with Joao and the development of the action was faster than we thought.

“In the second goal we conceded, Lamptey slipped.

“But I think we played a good second half.

“We lost to a great team.

“I think they are playing well in this last part of the season.”
