Reading to discover pair of EFL Cup and EFL Trophy opponents in next 24 hours

Reading will discover their Carabao Cup first-round opponents tomorrow as the draw takes place live on Sky Sports.

In the week that the first-team squad returned for pre-season training and full League One fixture lists were revealed, staff and supporters alike can discover the Royals' cup opponents from 11.30am tomorrow.

70 Clubs across the Championship, League One and League Two enter at this stage, with the competition remaining regionalised until round three.

Ties will take place week commencing August 12, with midweek matches throughout.

In last year's competition, Ruben Selles' young Royals romped past a full-strength Millwall at the Den- a first away win of any kind for 2024.

From 2.30pm, EFL Trophy groups will be confirmed as the Academy sides are drawn.

Reading are already due to face Cheltenham Town and Newport County, while one of eight possible Premier League youth teams will complete the line-up.

Last season, Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21s knocked Reading out at the last 16 stage.
