After a summer in which musical festivals were all but wiped out in the UK, many of us are already making plans on how to make up for it next time around.

A number of events have already confirmed line-ups for 2021 and, earlier this week, two of the biggest festivals got in on the act.

Reading and Leeds festivals will return for their traditional bank holiday weekender, with a series of big-name acts all locked in.

With tickets now on sale, here’s what you need to know.

How to get tickets for Reading and Leeds 2021

Anyone who bought a ticket for Reading and Leeds 2020 should have been contacted by their ticketing agent with the option to transfer their tickets over to next year’s edition.

Otherwise, new tickets are on sale now and are available to buy here.

When are Reading and Leeds festivals?

The two events will run concurrently at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds from Friday August 27 until Sunday August 29.

Who is on the 2021 line-up?

In 2021, there will be six headliners instead of the usual three, with two main stages on each site. Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Queens of the Stone Age, Post Malone, Disclosure and Liam Gallagher will top the bill.

The announcement on an all-male headliner line-up led to renewed criticism of the festival’s bookings, which have come under fire for many years over issues of gender inequality. There are women further down the line-up — including Doja Cat, Mabel and Beabadoobee — although it means that the festivals haven’t secured a female-fronted headliner since Paramore in 2014.
