Reading will have two fixtures broadcast live on Sky Sports in the first two months of the season.

Last Wednesday saw the EFL fixtures released for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign, with the Royals given a tough start including Birmingham City, Wrexham and Charlton Athletic in the first few weeks.

With Sky Sports' new TV deal with the EFL, each midweek match will be shown live as well as the opening day and final day.

Each club is guaranteed at least 20 matches to be broadcast live, and the Royals will have two in the first two months of the campaign.

Reading travel to recently relegated Birmingham City on the opening day (August 10) and this will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event at 5.30pm.

The EFL have also confirmed that Huddersfield Town's visit to Berkshire on September 28 is also to be broadcast live and kick-off to be brought forward to 12.30pm.

This will be the first meeting between the sides since the Terriers relegated the Royals from the Championship in 2023 under Neil Warnock.

All televised matches up to Christmas will be confirmed ahead of a ball being kicked in the league, a vast improvement on the past.
