Reading set to pocket crucial seven-figure fee as Michael Olise looks Bayern-bound
Reading look set for a well-timed cash injection this summer as Michael Olise nears a move to German giants Bayern Munich.
The Academy graduate burst onto the scene with Reading under Veljko Paunovic and moved to Crystal Palace for £8m in 2021.
Impressing at Selhurst Park, the France Under-21 international hit double figures for goals last season and speculation around his future continues to build.
It looks increasingly likely that the creative midfielder will move to the Allianz Stadium and Bayern Munich this summer in a deal worth up to £60m.
🚨🔴 Bayern have informed Crystal Palace already yesterday about formal process to trigger the release clause for Michael Olise.
◉ £45m fixed fee for Crystal Palace.
◉ £5m in add-ons also part of deal.
Personal terms agreed yesterday over five year deal.

Upon his exit from Berkshire three years ago, a sell-on fee was built into his contract, believed to be 10 per cent of the profits raised by the Eagles.
This could land Reading approximately £5m this summer, coming at a time when owner Dai Yongge continues to withhold funds.
There was hope that a takeover deal could be completed, with target dates originally set for March and May, but this sell-on fee could help keep the club tick over while negotiations remain ongoing heading into pre-season.
Uncertainty remains for the women's side, with reports that they could face relegation to tier four or even complete closure unless proof of funds from Yongge or a prospective owner can be disclosed.
