Reading set for reunion with former favourites as Championship friendly lined up

Reading are set for a reunion with former favourites Yakou Meite and Andy Rinomhota as Cardiff City host the Royals in a pre-season friendly.

Rinomhota broke through the youth system to make nearly 150 appearances for the club, winning Player of the Season in 2019.

28-year-old Meite was a true fan favourite for his enthusiasm and knack for scoring important goals, hitting 47 in 165 appearances.

Both departed Berkshire in recent years for the Welsh capital, but neither have solidified themselves in Erol Bulut's team as of yet.

Rinomhota, the combative midfielder, spent part of last season on loan with relegated Rotherham United after failing to break into the team.

Cardiff will host Reading at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday, July 31 (19.30 ko.)

The game is open to supporters and comes just three days before the final warm-up game as Hull City visit the SCL Stadium on Saturday, August 3 (15.00 ko.)
