Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. has been arrested in San Diego County on rape charges, according to multiple reports.

NBC 7 in San Diego reports that Sheriff’s deputies arrested Winslow at his Vista, California home on Thursday. He stands charged with two counts of kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, two counts of forcible rape, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of forcible oral copulation, two counts of residential burglary and one count of indecent exposure, the district attorney’s office told NBC 7.

Winslow’s second arrest in two weeks

Police arrested Winslow last week in the San Diego community of Encinitas on separate burglary charges. Winslow stood accused of walking into a stranger’s residence at an Encinitas trailer park. A neighbor confronted a man matching Winslow’s description, prompting him to leave.

Police found Winslow in the area and arrested him after the woman called about the alleged burglary. Winslow spent five hours in jail before being released on bail.

The witness took a photo of the black Hummer the alleged intruder was driving, which helped police identify Winslow.

“I confronted him and said ‘Hi, can I help you with anything’,” the witness told ABC 10. “He said, ‘Nope, just looking for my dog.’ I go, ‘What dog?’ and he said, ‘Well, it’s a red dog, Clifford.’ And I went, ‘There’s no dog here.’ I said, I’m not comfortable with this, you need to leave. And he just stood there and he went, ‘Alright then.'”

Winslow was scheduled to be arraigned on first-degree burglary charges on Thursday for last week’s arrest before he was arrested on new charges.

Sheriff’s office: Winslow has multiple alleged victims

San Diego Sheriff’s Office Lt. Michael Blevins told NBC 7 that there were multiple alleged victims associated with Thursday’s arrest, but did not say how many. He said the alleged crimes took place in Encinitas but not at the trailer park involved with last week’s arrest.

Winslow played in the NFL from 2004-13 and was selected to the Pro Bowl with the Cleveland Browns in 2007. He is the son of Hall of Fame tight end and Chargers icon Kellen Winslow and grew up in San Diego.

Winslow has history of legal trouble

He has had trouble with the law before. He was accused of masturbating in a New Jersey Target parking lot in 2013 and eventually charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance identified as synthetic marijuana.

A judge granted Winslow a conditional discharge in that incident.
