Republic of Ireland must avoid defeat at home to Armenia tonight to avoid dropping down into the third-tier of the Nations League.

While a relatively simple task on paper, the team dubbed the Mountaineers who are ranked 92nd in the world beat Stephen Kenny’s side in the reverse fixture of their Group B1 campaign.

Since then, a big win over Scotland and draw with Ukraine have been the only high points of a disappointing spell for Ireland.

Still, Armenia were smashed 5-0 by Ukraine last week and have conceded 14 goals in their five group games so far.
