Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit Intact, Now Headlines UFC 195

Although a thumb injury forced Robbie Lawler off of the UFC 193 mega-event the promotion has planned for Nov. 14 at Ethiad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, his fight with Carlos Condit won't be canceled. It will just be delayed.

The UFC on Thursday night announced via Fox Sports Live that Lawler would still put his belt on the line against Condit. The fight will simply swap spots with the fight that took top billing at UFC 193 after Lawler suffered the injury.

Lawler vs. Condit now headlines UFC 195 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas. That card was originally to be headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm, which is the fight that is the new UFC 193 main event.

Lawler (26-10, 1 NC) enters the fight off of a fifth-round TKO stoppage of Rory MacDonald, which followed wins over Johny Hendricks, Matt Brown, and Jake Ellenberger.

Condit (30-8) is a former interim UFC welterweight champion, but has had a rough couple of years. After defeating Martin Kampmann in August of 2013, he suffered a severe knee injury in a TKO stoppage loss to Tyron Woodley in March of 2014.

Condit finally returned in May of this year, winning a TKO (doctor’s stoppage) over Thiago Alves, which vaulted him back into the championship mix.
