Romania's 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands ends former Reading striker George Puscas' involvement in Euro 2024.

Romania, who won Group E, struggled against Ronald Koeman's Holland and were ultimately outclassed.

The Royals' most expensive player, George Puscas, failed to make an appearance off the bench and exited the tournament with 39 minutes played across two cameos.

Scoring 20 goals in 91 appearances for club, he cost over £7.5m and has hopped around clubs in Italy since departing Berkshire in 2022.

Former loanee, Nathan Ake, started for the Netherlands and kept a clean sheet at the Allianz Arena.

The 29-year-old has played 311 minutes in four appearances. The Dutch face-up against Turkey in the quarter-final on Saturday.

Other Royal links include former manager, Steve Clarke, who exited at the group stage with Scotland.

Zurab Khiznalvili, who played for the club over a decade ago, holds a coaching role with his national team, Georgia.

The minnows gained a cult following during the tournament for their fearless nature, ultimately knocked out by Spain in the Round of 16.
