Warrington Wolves Academy 2025 Australia Tour ‘Stars in their Eyes’ night out

A ‘Stars in your Eyes’ night will take place to help raise funds for the proposed Warrington Wolves Academy tour to Australia next year.

The event will take place in the 40/Twenty Lounge at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday, July 6, at 7pm.

Tickets are £10 each and available from Sian Rigby on 07796 786176.

If you would like to be one of the 'acts' on the evening or you know somebody who would like to be involved then contact Sian.

Acts can be either solo, duet or a band and the closing date for nominations is Sunday, June 30.

All Wolves Academy and Reserves players will be in attendance.

Warrington crown green bowls competition news

IT is a big night on the men’s bowls scene this Friday.

The Presidents Cup finals night takes place at Monks Sports Club from 6.15pm.

From an original entry of 32, the last eight will do battle to pick up the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association premier singles competition prize.

The quarter-final draw features several previous winners and includes the 2022 runner-up, Pete Maddocks from the Irish Club, who looks to go one better this year and will face Alford Hall’s Craig Morris in the opening game with four chalks start.

The WNCBA Challenge Cup has reached the quarter finals stage with games being played on Saturday, July 6, 2pm start.

Tie of the round sees the 2023 double winners Alford Hall A up against the 2022 winners Orford War Memorial A at St Albans.

Draw: Croft A v St Oswalds A at Monks Sports, Penketh Tavern v Longbarn A at Tetleys 2, Woolston A v Tetleys D at OWM, Alford Hall A v OWM A at St Albans.

Open day at Manor Road Tennis Club

MANOR Road Tennis Club in the walled garden of Lymm Rugby Club is holding an open day on Sunday, June 30 in conjunction with The Lymm Festival.

From 10am until noon there will be fun tennis for juniors and from noon until 4pm there will be a chance for adults to have a go at tennis on the new courts.

Refreshments will also be available.

Warrington Girls Rugby League Club players tackle Pretty Muddy for Cancer Research

WARRINGTON Girls Rugby League Club under 12s and under 15s proved that their determination extends beyond the pitch by tackling Cancer Research's Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course.

They crawled, climbed, and slid through muddy challenges and have raised £1,320 for the charity.

The girls, and coaches, embraced the messy fun, supporting each other through every obstacle and crossing the finishing line as a team with smiles - and a fair bit of mud!

A club spokesman said: “Their incredible fundraising effort is a testament to their team spirit and commitment to making a difference. We are extremely proud of them.”
