Rugby-Bok wing Combrinck out for six weeks with fractured leg

Aug 28 (Reuters) - South African wing Ruan Combrinck has been ruled out for six weeks after fracturing his fibula in the Springboks' 26-24 Rugby Championship loss in Argentina on Saturday. Combrinck was forced from the field seven minutes before halftime and taken to hospital, where x-rays confirmed the fracture. The Boks are also sweating on a groin injury for flyhalf Elton Jantjies that led to him being replaced just after the break. He will undergo a scan to discover the extent of the problem. South Africa's next two matches are away in Australia on Sept. 10 and New Zealand a week later. The squad for those fixtures will be announced on Tuesday. The defeat, a first for the Boks in Argentina, places more pressure on new coach Allister Coetzee, who has yet to get a convincing 80 minutes from his team in his five matches in charge that also include a home loss to an injury-depleted Ireland. "As a team, we made some crucial mistakes and they (Argentina) made better use of their opportunities than we did," Coetzee told reporters. "We had enough opportunities to create scoreboard pressure, but we did not take them. "At test level, you must take your opportunities or you will get punished. We missed some penalties and also didn't score tries when we were in a position to do so. "Credit to Argentina because they really worked for their victory. The defeat is hurting and the Springboks will never be satisfied with a loss. "We will regroup and work hard to improve as a team so that we can be ready for the next test against Australia in Brisbane." (Reporting by Nick Said; editing by Amlan Chakraborty)
