Rugby Union: Argentina prop banned for 99 years for kicking opponent in the head

A club rugby prop in Argentina has reportedly been banned for 99 years for kicking a defenseless opponent in the face.

Video of the cowardly attack emerged from a weekend match between Pucara and San Albano in the Torneo de la URBA - a rugby union competition held in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires.

Playing in the Torneo de la URBA competition in Buenos Aires, San Albano’s Juan Masi was on his hands and knees as he attempted to crawl away from the ruck, only to be kicked in the face by Pucara's Cipriano Martinez.

The Pucara prop was sent off immediately, however reports emerged in Argentina that he has been banned from rugby for 99 years.

The Pucara club released a statement following the match, saying:

"Pucara club denounces the unsporting conduct displayed during the match against San Albano.

"We wish to extend our sincere apologies to the injured player, the club and to the ruby world in general. Pucara Club will be taking disciplinary measures."
