Rylan Clark 'would've been in court' as he reveals he was 'held back' by TV crew over shocking behaviour

Rylan Clark revealed he was 'held back by production' while filming his new BBC show after a young man made a 'really homophobic' comment. The shocking incident happened while he was in Venice filming for Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour.

The three-part series sees Rylan and Rob Rinder travel across Italy to follow the same route that Lord Byron did in the 18th century. The pair appeared on the This Morning sofa on Thursday morning (May 16) to discuss the show with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

A clip from the programme was played, showing the moment the duo got dressed up to wander the streets of Venice with drag collective House of Serenissima for their first public outing. But while the group received applause from "90-year-old nonnas", Rylan said one passer-by had been 'derogatory', the Mirror reports.

Rylan said: "That collective had never, never been out in Venice dressed up. For the first time, they've been together a year, they said 'we're going out in public' - and they did. We had a guy shout out something really homophobic and derogatory. I was held back by production, the Stepney Green nearly came out of me, in seven-foot heels as well."

As TV judge Rob chipped in: "I would have defended him and been a good witness", Rylan joked: "I would have been in court, but I've got the best in the land."

The series, which will continue on Sunday, May 19, has had fans gushing on social media, with one saying: "I loved it. It's interesting and educational. Funny and sad. You two are the nicest of people. Your honesty when you both share your experiences and feelings is so emotional. Can't wait for the next episode."
