Rattler took more snaps in his final two seasons with the Gamecocks than he did in his first three at Oklahoma. Rattler finished fifth all time in passing yards with 6,212 and ranks first in South Carolina football history in career completion percentage with .675. Rattler has a strong arm and great accuracy, allowing him to hit targets from various distances. He’s an athletic QB, who can play under pressure and through adversity with great timing on his passes. He’s a playmaker with his feet, he accelerators nicely and extends a lot of plays. Rattler's final season in South Carolina was a bright spot for the Gamecocks. He finished with a career best 3,186 yards, 23 combined touchdowns, just eight interceptions and 104 rushing yards. His highlight reel started in 2022 with a six-touchdown game over Tennessee where he threw for 438 yards, completing 81.1% of his passes. The 63-point performance from South Carolina was Rattler’s best game of his college career. In 2023, he threw for 399 yards against Jacksonville St for three combined TDs in the win. Over five seasons he rushed for 410 yards and had 16 rushing TDs. Rattler went five games in 2023 without throwing an interception.

Rattler impressed at the 2024 draft combine where he ran a 4.95 40-yard dash, logged a 32 vertical jump, 9-0 broad jump and 4.27 20-yard shuttle.
