Sam Billings century in vain as England beaten by Australia in first ODI contest

Sam Billings' first ODI hundred was not enough for England at Old Trafford on Friday as the hosts fell to an opening 19-run defeat against Australia.

The Kent batsman struck 118 before falling with the very last delivery of the match as Eoin Morgan's side failed to chase a target of 295 for victory.

Jonny Bairstow initially led a recovery for England, who were 57-4 at one stage, but was eventually dismissed for 84 in a losing effort.
