Schenevus takes down L/M; Unatego holds off Sidney
Jan. 31—The Schenevus girls basketball team defeated Laurens/Milford 62-37 Wednesday at home behind 23-point performances from Amber Burton and Sam Barrett.
Autumn Burton added seven points in the win for the Dragons
Delaney Maison had 12 points to lead L/M in the loss while Brooke Mann chipped in nine.
Schenevus will host Richfield Springs in the Tri-Valley playoffs Wednesday.
Unatego 49, Sidney 41
The Unatego girls earned an important 49-41 home win over Sidney Wednesday in Midstate Athletic Conference play.
Lizzie Craft paced the Spartans with 23 points while Harly Birdsall also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Nayla Miley was Sidney's top scorer with 16 points while Ava Cirigliano added 10.
Unatego will host Walton/Downsville Thursday while Sidney is at home against Deposit-Hancock Friday.
Unadilla Valley 53, Harpursville 22
A 21-0 third-quarter helped Unadilla Valley take down Harpursville 53-22 at home Wednesday.
Jaiden Schrag had a game-high 22 points and eight steals while Natalie Crandall added a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Adrianna Hartman led Harpursville with nine points in the loss.
UV will visit Oxford Friday while Harpursville will host Unadilla Valley in a rematch Monday.
Walton/Downsville allowed just three first-half points Wednesday en route to a 42-28 win over Deposit-Hancock on the road.
Grace Walley led the way with 20 points and seven steals in the win. Eve Foster, meanwhile, notched seven assists and five steals to go with three points.
Deposit-Hancock was led by Sarah Gross' 18 points.
W/D (9-8) will be at Unatego Thursday.
