Scotland vs Hungary misery compounded as BBC in humiliating highlights no-show

Scotland left the Euro 2024 tournament with the least number of shots on goal from all three games.

It was a miserable campaign for Steve Clarke's troops who lacked the attacking creativity needed to qualify against Germany, Switzerland and Hungary for the knockout rounds. The final fixture of the three was a disaster with no shots on target from the Scots in the full 90 minutes which compounded the competition for fans and pundits who criticised their efforts.

But now footage has emerged from the coverage of Germany's clash with the Swiss which was on at the same time on Sunday evening as Scotland's clash against the Hungarians.

Mark Chapman issued what was a brutal update for punters who opted to watch the other game on BBC Two while Scots were on BBC One by revealing there were NO highlights worthy of showing as the game went on.

Chapman said at the time: "The game, by the way, between Scotland and Hungary is goalless, we were gonna bring you some highlights of that but there have been seven touches in the box in the whole of the game. That's both teams.

"There's been one shot on target from Hungary, five shots in total and Hungary have had all of those.

"So we haven't actually been able to find any highlights to bring you. But it's goalless and it is on BBC One."
