Kelty Hearts have announced the signing of former Hibs favourite Scott Allan.

The ex-Celtic midfielder, 32, was out of contract after leaving Arbroath earlier this summer. Allan spent last season on loan with Northern Irish champions Larne, chipping in with four goal contributions in eight appearances. Now, he's secured a return to Scottish football by moving to New Central Park in League One.

Journeyman Allan - who has played for a whopping 13 clubs throughout his career - will also begin his coaching career with the Jambos by assisting boss Michael Tidser. A club statement read: "We are delighted to welcome Scott Allan as Michael Tidser's latest addition ahead of the new season.

"The experienced midfielder, who counts Dundee United, West Brom, Hibs and Celtic amongst his former clubs, joins us at New Central Park having picked up a Northern Ireland Championship medal with Larne last season whilst on loan from Arbroath. Scott will also be assisting as part of the coaching team in his role at the club."
