New-look Annan Athletic will start their second season in Scotland’s third tier with an away trip.

The Galabankies, under new boss Wullie Gibson, will head to relegated Cove Rangers for their 2024/25 League One curtain-raiser on August 3.

The clash with Paul Hartley’s Cove will be Annan’s first league game since the departure of seven-year boss Peter Murphy and his replacement by veteran player Gibson.

A week later, Annan will host Duncan Ferguson’s Inverness Caledonian Thistle in their first home game of the league campaign at Galabank.

And third on the calendar is a derby against Murphy’s new club Queen of the South at Palmerston Park on August 17.

Annan round off August with a home clash with Alloa Athletic and a trip to Stenhousemuir.

Their first home meeting with Queens comes on October 26, while a festive trip to the Doonhamers falls on December 28 before their fourth encounter with Murphy’s men at home on April 5.

Annan’s final game of the campaign sees them at home to Cove on May 3.

Murphy, meanwhile, is also on the road for his first league game at the Queens helm.

The Carlisle United legend’s first full-time managerial role sees the Dumfries side head to Alloa for their league opener on August 3.

A first home league game at the helm for Murphy comes against Cove the following weekend. Queens’ last game of the season is at Arbroath.

Before league action, both clubs will contest the group stage of the SPFL Cup, with Annan hosting Inverness first on July 13 and Murphy’s first competitive Queens game coming at home to Aberdeen on the same day.
