Second stage of national fishing championship sails into Cowes this July

The Cowes BoatLife Fishing Championship comes alive this July 13-14, marking the second stage of the new national event.

Competitors, both from professional teams and legendary Privateer anglers, will be vying for the Pro-Team Cup and the cherished Privateer Cup respectively.

The competition, packed over the two-day weekend, offers more than aquatic action, with an on-shore party full of music, fun, and a prize-giving ceremony.

The event is emphasising sustainable fishing practices and marine conservation.

As part of this, pro-teams will visit Isle of Wight schools beforehand to allow youngsters to explore championship boats and grasp recreational angling and marine welfare through special talks.

The event in Cowes is the second in a four-stage championship competition held across the UK.

The third stage is scheduled to berth in Plymouth, moving finally to Guernsey in November.

By February 2025, the champion will be hailed at a special BoatLife event.
