Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is currently not planning to terminate his contract early, according to his agent and father.

The centre-back is into the final six months of his deal at Arsenal and he has not played since Boxing Day.

That has led to speculation that the German could have his contract mutually terminated this month, as was the case with Mesut Ozil and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

Mustafi’s agent and father, however, has now poured cold water on that and revealed no talks of that nature are currently occurring.

“I also read the rumours yesterday that Shkodran is set to terminate his contract. To clarify: there are currently no talks about a contract termination,” Kujtim Mustafi told Transfermarkt.

“The fact is that Shkodran will leave the club in the summer at the latest.”

Mustafi is understood to be attracting interest from clubs during the current transfer window, with Lazio one side keeping tabs on him.
