Shocking video shows jockey punching horse
A South Australian jockey has been suspended for a despicable attack on a horse at Port Lincoln on Wednesday.
Shocking footage captured Dylan Caboche punching his mount She’s Reneldasgirl in the stomach before a race at the South Australian track.

The incident happened prior to the Lincoln Sand Supplies – NT & DA Dickson/SABOIS Maiden Plate (1390m), with Caboche handed a two-week suspension for the low act.
Caboche understandably copped plenty of backlash from social media users furious over his actions.
Hope they take your licence @DylanCaboche How dare you do that to an animal. Grubs like you have no place in racing.

Hope he didn’t decide to jump off and give this one a punch in the guts… 2 weeks suspension, talk about getting off lightly. Hopefully trainers and owners don’t give him rides anymore. From a racing fanatic, that’s not on #disgusting

The three-year-old, trained by Allan Jarvis, finished eighth in the 10-horse maiden over 1390 metres.
She’s Reneldasgirl was the first of Caboche’s seven rides at Port Lincoln on Wednesday, with the apprentice winning the final race on Slide Of Hand.
Thoroughbred Racing SA stewards announced the rider’s suspension in a tweet on Wednesday afternoon.

A similarly shocking incident involving Irish jockey Davy Russell happened earlier in the year that led to an investigation from the The Irish Turf Club.
Footage circulated on social media showed the jockey punching a horse in the head after a racing meet in Tranmore, Ireland in August.
HALL OF SHAME: Melbourne Cup punter carnage goes global
The incident was completely missed by stewards at Tranmore, but quickly rose to prominence after Twitter user drewboy uploaded a video that clearly showed Russell lashing out at his horse.
The jockey was handed a four-race ban over the incident.
He has also been condemned for his actions by several animal protection groups.
“It’s absolutely disgusting how this young jockey treated this poor horse,” Elio Celotto from Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses said.
“Unfortunately we see this kind of cruelty everyday when whips and spurs are used on racehorses,” Mr Celotto added.
Caboche is yet to announce whether he will appeal the suspension.
