Siddle to play with county side Nottinghamshire for 2014 season

Sydney, Nov 14 (ANI): Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle will reportedly join English county side Nottinghamshire for the 2014 season. Siddle, who is currently preparing for the Ashes series against England in Australia, will represent Nottinghamshire in the County Championship and the domestic 40-over competition but would not play Twenty20 matches. According to News.com.au, Siddle has taken 167 Test wickets in 46 appearances and the move to Nottinghamshire will see him link up with his England rivals Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann. Expressing his satisfaction at signing with Nottinghamshire, Siddle said 2014 is the right opportunity to join the county side, as then Australia has no Test matches scheduled, adding that he is pleased by the fact that Nottinghamshire has an excellent pedigree and are keen to challenge on all fronts. Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell said that Siddle would add a lot of quality to their ranks, adding that he will also be an excellent role model for the younger players in their squad and his wicket-taking ability will lift them.
