Chelsea are trying to tempt Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise into swapping Selhurst Park for Stamford Bridge this summer, with developments being made in a move for the Frenchman.

After another fantastic season with Crystal Palace, Olise is once again being linked with a move away from the Eagles, with Chelsea along with Manchester United interested in the 22-year-old. It's reported that progress has been made in Chelsea's attempt to lure Olise to west London, with the club agreeing personal terms with the winger.

Olise was pivotal in Crystal Palace's fantastic end to last season, with the Frenchman scoring 10 and registering six assists in just 19 Premier League games. If a deal for Olise can get over the line, he would be Chelsea's second arrival of the summer after defender Tosin Adarabioyo signed for Enzo Maresca's side.

So, if Olise were to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer, what could happen in the upcoming 2024/25 campaign? Let's take a look.

Chelsea's 2024/25 season simulated with Michael Olise

To set up this simulation, we used Football Manager 2024 to move Olise to Chelsea in the summer transfer window before simulating the 2024/25 season. This is how the Frenchman performed for the Blues.

Injury problems hindered Olise's 2023/24 season with Palace, but he was able to stay fully fit in the simulation, with the Frenchman managing to make 40 appearances in his first season under Maresca. The 22-year-old quickly became one of the Blues' best players, with the signing ending the campaign as the club's best player.

No Chelsea player averaged a higher rating per 90 minutes than Olise, with the winger averaging a 7.56 rating per game. Moises Caicedo (7.23) and Reece James (7.21) were the closest to Olise, with the Frenchman also grabbing eight goals and eight assists in his first season with the Blues.

Christopher Nkunku also managed to stay fully fit as he ended the season as the club's top scorer (19), while Cole Palmer starred once again, grabbing 18 goals and eight assists.

At the end of the 2024/25 season, Football Manager 2024 put together an overall best Chelsea XI, based on performances, statistics, and other metrics. This is what it looked like:

Full Chelsea best XI: (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; James, Fofana, Disasi, Chilwell; Fernandez, Caicedo; Olise, Palmer, Nkunku; Jackson.

Olise made the Chelsea best XI, starting on the right wing alongside Palmer and Nkunku behind Nicolas Jackson. Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling both struggled, with the latter being sent on loan to Paris Saint-Germain for the second half of the season.

Despite Olise starring for the Blues, he wasn't able to offer much help in the Premier League, with the Blues struggling to muster up a top-four battle. A poor end to the season saw Chelsea drop off from the European spot hunt, with Maresca just about securing a spot in the Europa Conference League.

17 wins, six draws and 15 defeats saw Chelsea end the season with 57 points, six points fewer than last season. The Blues lost six of their last nine Premier League games, with the defeats seeing them plummet down the table. It wasn't all doom and gloom for Chelsea though, with the Blues managing to end the season with a trophy to their name.

Olise, Palmer, and Ben Chilwell all got on the scoresheet as Chelsea beat West Ham United 3-1 to lift the FA Cup trophy at the end of the season. A shock 1-0 loss to League One side Bolton Wanderers saw Maresca's side knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the fourth round, while a 3-2 aggregate loss to Genk ended their Europa Conference League journey in the quarter-finals.
