Soccer Aid 2024 was a close one - and a goal-fest - with England eventually winning the match at Stamford Bridge.

Joe Cole gave the Three Lions the lead early on but Eden Hazard levelled the game not long after. Alessandro Del Piero made it 2-1 to the World XI before England levelled through Ellen White.

Steven Bartlett gave England the lead in the second-half before Jermain Defoe extended their advantage. Bartlett was then on hand to capitalise on a mistake from goalkeeper Tony Bellew to make it 5-2 but World XI pulled one back from the penalty spot with Billy Wingrove converting.

Theo Walcott made it six for England with a beautiful lob over Bellew. And that is the way it stayed. Below, Bobby Vincent rates every single player that featured.

England

David James - 5

Should have done better for the Eden Hazard free-kick, I'm afraid.

Danny Dyer - 6

Slid around a lot. Nailed Usain Bolt. Lasted less than 30.

Gary Cahill - 7

Class from the former Chelsea defender. Did well on several occasions to prevent a dangerous World XI attacking line.

Stuart Broad - 6.5

Looked good there. He's massive.

Sam Quek - 6

Solid at left-back.

Jack Wilshere - 7.5

He was a very classy footballer so it was no surprise to see moments of pure class from the former Arsenal midfielder.

Jill Scott - 8

She's still brilliant.

Tom Grennan -7.5

A real baller there.

Sam Thompson - 6

Ran around a lot. He clearly loved every minute.

Joe Cole - 8.5

Fantastic technique for the opening goal of the game. You do not lose it.

Ellen White - 7.5

Scores the easiest goal she has probably ever scored after some great work from Jack Wilshere.

Tom Hiddleston - 5

Comes on for Danny Dyer less than half an hour in.

Sir Mo Farah - 6

Comes on in the first-half.

Alex Brooker - 6

On in the first-half.

Jermain Defoe - 6

Jermain Defoe scores goals.

Ashley Cole - 7

You always get at least a seven from Cole.

Stephen Bartlett - 7.5

Takes his first goal really well.

Bobby Brazier - 4

Poor to give away the penalty.

Eddie Hearn - 7

He is getting a seven because he is Eddie Hearn.

Theo Walcott - 7.5

Didn't notice him too much. There was too much going on. But then he scored.

Karen Carney - 6

Did okay in midfield.

Miniminter - 7

Huge ovation when he came on. He's a bit of a baller.

World XI

Petr Cech - 6

Some Cruyff turns on Ellen White early on. Gets skinned by Jack Wilshere.

Martin Compston - 7

A fantastic block on 27 minutes to deny Tom Grennan. The Line of Duty actor slides across to prevent Grennan from scoring.

Roman Kemp - 7

Playing with earrings in. That's now allowed. Surely.

Patrice Evra - 7

Still very good. Flies into tackles.

Michael Essien - 6

How good was it to see him back in SW6?

Kheira Hamraoui - 7

A really classy performance in midfield.

Lee Mack - 4

He is a bit of a legend when it comes to Soccer Aid. Not sure there is too much to say about his performance otherwise than it looked tricky for him at times.

Eden Hazard - 9

So good to see him back at Stamford Bridge. Hazard put on a masterclass - as you would expect.

Alessandro Del Piero - 8

A great finish from the Italian icon to make it 2-1 to World XI. Technically, everything is still there. That is for sure.

Usain Bolt - 7.5

Really good from the fastest man in the world for Del Piero's goal. Lets the ball go through his legs to beat Stuart Broad and then puts it on a plate for his teammate. Classy.

Michael Ward - 7

Actually looked really good at left-back. Plus, Top Boy is fantastic.

Kaylyn Kyle - 6

The Canadian comes on in the first-half.

Tommy Fury - 3

It's a good thing he can box. That's all I will say.

Paddy McGuinness - 7

Made some good saves. Fair play, Paddy.

Robbie Keane - 6

No cartwheel celebration tonight.

Theo Baker - 6

Looked good at right-back, to be fair.

Billy Wingrove - 7.5

Skilful. Scored. Didn't rate his celebration.

Tion Wayne - 5

Seemed to smile a lot. Fair play.

Olga Garcia - 6.5

Looked good.

Jason Manford - 6

Good to see him. Did I miss anyone?

Iain Stirling - 6

Why did he come on?
