SOCIAL CHATTER: Leicester City set for the “greatest ever achievement” and Jamie Vardy chats s**t with Piers Morgan

James Matthews rounds up what social media is saying about Leicester City’s five-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Can they win it?

Leicester City’s 3-1 demolition of Manchester City left them five points clear at the top of the Premier League - and also as the new favourites to be crowned champions.

A Robert Huth double and a strike from Riyad Mahrez sealed an impressive victory at the Etihad in the top of the table clash.

And just days on, Leicester now top the bookmakers’ odds and are favourites to achieve the unthinkable and win the Premier League.

Left-back Christian Fuchs wondered if their rivals will be able to handle the Huth?

The victory over Manchester City had given them a six-point lead which was later reduced to five.

But the rest of Dan Roan’s tweet underlined the staggering story that has unfolded at the King Power Stadium this year…Leicester City going from 5000/1 for the title to 7/4 favourites.

And if that is hard enough to believe, check out the story of the last 12 months.

Leicester have more than trebled their points haul from last year when they needed a late season miracle to avoid relegation to the Championship.

And television and radio pundit Mark Pougatch predicts it will be the greatest achievement to have happened in football if Claudio Ranieri’s men do go on to do the unthinkable.

What Leicester did, according to Rio Ferdinand, is show incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola that he has a lot of work on his hands when he arrives in the Premier League.

One Manchester United account even wondered if Guardiola chose the wrong City!

Leicester’s title credentials will get another examination next weekend when they face Arsenal.

Celebrity Gunners fan Piers Morgan was quick to show some pessimism ahead of the game as he started a Twitter sparring duel with Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.

Vardy has eyes on champagne in May…not February though.

And Morgan’s fellow celebrity Arsenal fan Jake Whitehall joined in the debate too.

Will Leicester burst another of their title rivals’ bubbles?
