Social media reacts to Los Angeles Lakers selecting LeBron James' son Bronny in 2024 NBA Draft

Bronny James is off to the NBA.

And he will be teaming up with his dad, four-time NBA champion LeBron James.

In what was one of the most highly anticipated picks in the history of the NBA Draft, let alone among second round picks, the Los Angeles Lakers selected the USC guard with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Thursday.

With the selection of Bronny James, LeBron and Bronny James will now become the first-ever father-son duo to be in the NBA at the same time.

Originally a five-star prospect who ranked as the No. 22 player nationally in 247Sports' Class of 2023 recruiting class, Bronny James played one year at USC for the Trojans where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25 games while shooting 36.6% from the field. In July of 2023, the younger James suffered cardiac arrest caused by a congenital heart defect during a USC practice, which caused him to miss the first month of the 2023-24 college basketball season.
