Everton Fan View: The sooner Sam Allardyce leaves Everton, the better

I didn’t want Sam Allardyce before he was appointed, I don’t now, and I don’t want him to manage another minute for Everton Football Club.

Has was appointed to steady the ship and steer Everton away from relegation, and in many respects he has done that. We are still however only seven points from the relegation zone.

That may sound like a healthy lead, but we were five points ahead when Allardyce took over. That was 12 games ago, and a two point improvement over such a period of time is hardly worth writing home about.

Everton have also improved since then as a squad, we have purchased Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun to add another near £50m to our season spending. We got the striker we needed and added a great attacking player too. We still inexplicably however, continue without a left-back.

The defensive way

Even with that Allardyce went to Arsenal and set-up not to lose. Playing three centre-backs and two defensive midfielders. We went into the match with seven defensive players and I expected a narrow loss in a game that was horrible to watch. Instead, we got absolutely hammered which is only what we deserved. If you set up not to lose, then you deserve to lose. Fans don’t pay the money for their tickets to watch horrible nil-nils.

The tactics have been horrible to watch and they aren’t getting any better. With the best club side he’s ever had to manage, my outside hope was that he could show a different side to his tactics and prove everyone wrong. It was a faint hope, and it was with good reason. He’s continued to show himself to be a football dinosaur incapable of playing attacking football.

It was a sad day when Everton approached him, and I wondered how long the nightmare would last. I expect him to pick up enough points so that relegation isn’t a concern, as our squad is so much better than a lot of teams in the league. We’ll win games just by the sheer talent that we have in the team.

If Allardyce was sacked tomorrow, I’d be a happy man. I know that’s not going to happen and I just hope that he’ll be gone as soon as the season is done. Watching Everton is going to be very difficult until the end of the season. The defensive football is going to persist as long as Allarcyce is the manager, I can’t wait until it’s over.
