SPORT: Teen accidentally runs full marathon

Running a half marathon is impressive enough, but one teenager went the extra mile (or 13) and ran the full thing - by accident.

Mideast Lebanon Marathon

Teenager Evan Megoulas is a runner on the Palmyra High School Cross Country Team in Pennsylvania.

On the weekend he set out to run the 13.1 mile Philadelphia Half Marathon, but despite his brother Peter and the rest of his family waiting at the finish line, he never arrived.

Worried that something may have happened, they appealed to Philadelphia police for help.

After a brief search, officers caught up to Evan and discovered the teen had somehow missed the turn for the half marathon and was still running.

Once they determined he was okay, and still wanted to run, they followed him back to the finish line - biking at least 6 miles with him.

Peter Megoulas says that Evan has a learning disability and can gets things confused easily, which may explain the missed turn.

As for his time? He ran the whole thing in 5:23:11!
