Apr. 11—Greensburg tennis

The Lady Pirates opened the season with a win on the road at Oldenburg Academy by the final of 4-1 Tuesday.

Mary Harmon won the No. 1 singles match 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 10-8. At No. 3 singles, Kayla Kramer won 6-1, 6-2.

At No. 1 doubles, Janae Comer and Mya Comer won 7-5 (7-5), 6-0. The No. 2 doubles team of Morgan Cain and Claire Nobbe won 6-1, 6-2.

Greensburg's Emma Kuntz was defeated at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0.

Rushville golf

Tuesday, the Lions traveled to Royal Hylands to take on Knightstown. The Lions picked up the win with a team total of 188 to the Panthers' 207.

The Lions were led by co-medalists Brody Terrell and Mason Mosburg, both with 45. The score for Mosburg is a personal best.

The two Lion medalist were followed by Griffin Norris and Caleb Schelle (personal best), both with 49. Kyle Jacobs finished out the varsity scoring with 57.

The Lions will next be on the links Saturday as they travel to Richmond for the Richmond Invitational.

NDJH track

North Decatur's junior high boys track team opened the season Tuesday with a weather shortened meet. North took first, second, and third in the high jump and long jump. Charlie Parmer took first in both shot put and discus with throws of 99-0 and 36-0. Jayden Lawrence placed first in his 1600 with a time of 6:37. Carson Downey also taking first in the 800 with his time of 3:13.
