Croatia is advancing to the World Cup semifinals after beating Brazil on penalties in extra time.

The upset came after Neymar scored for Brazil with an impressive move around Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and high shot into the net to make it 1-0 in extra time.

That goal excited fans, as it seemed to ensure Brazil the win and cemented Neymar as the top all-time goalscorer for Brazil in a tie with the great Pelé.

NBA players and media members alike were absolutely thrilled.

Minutes later, all of the reactions to Neymar's goal were cut short when Bruno Petkovic finished off a counterattack in the 117th minute to send the contest to penalty kicks. Croatia scored first and began a wave of reactions. Fans expressed shock at the upset and empathy for Neymar who broke down on the pitch. Some questioned why the star winger was not utilized in the shootout.
