POWERHOUSE South Africa number eight Jasper Wiese will miss the summer Test against Wales at Twickenham after being red-carded.

The strong-running back rower was dismissed in his Leicester farewell against Exeter for dangerously clearing out a ruck.

The Springbok, said to be Japan-bound, lifted the Chiefs' Ross Vincent and dropped him on his head, leading to a red card.

Wiese admitted the offence was worthy of a dismissal at a disciplinary hearing, and that he has a poor disciplinary record, and has been banned for six games.

The World Cup-winning number eight has been banned for Wales' Test against the Springboks at Twickenham on June 22, subject to confirmation he would have been released for the fixture outside World Rugby's window due to his move from the Tigers.

He will also sit out the two summer encounters with Ireland, Portugal and a pair of Rugby Championship games against Australia.

English Premiership sides will not be releasing players for Wales’ Test against the Boks, which means Warren Gatland will be without the likes of Dafydd Jenkins, Nick Tompkins, Christ Tshiunza and Tommy Reffell.

South Africa could also be without a number of stars due to the fixture clashing with the final of the United Rugby Championship.
