Spurs trio have to bite their tongues playing Fortnite as Arsenal crash out of the Europa League
Your arch rivals are crashing out of the Europa League in the final few days of their iconic manager’s reign so what do you do? Play Fortnite of course.
That’s what Tottenham trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Keiran Trippier did while Arsenal were losing to Atletico Madrid in the semi-final second leg in Spain.
And the trio – well known for their love of the hugely popular online game – were warned about saying anything derogatory about the Gunners’ fate as they were being streamed and recorded.

Alli is a known fan of the game and has cracked out a few Fortnite-themed goals celebrations, doing just that after knocking in Spurs first goal against Watford last weekend.
While the Arsenal game was unfolding in Madrid, the Spurs trio were playing Fortnite with Tyler “Ninja” Blevins – who is often considered the best player in the game.

And halfway through their stream on Twitch, the Arsenal result filtered through. “Looks like Arsenal are out of the Europa League,” Kane said.
“What’s the score?” replied Tripper. “Going to be 1-0,” Kane replied. Alli quickly jumped in: “Don’t say nothing boys, because you are live.”
“Oh yeah, be careful,” Ninja added. And Alli later joked: “You were going to say something then Trips, weren’t you?”
A Diego Costa (who else?) goal was enough to send Atleti through to the final 2-1 on aggregate to leave Wenger with nothing to play for in his final two games as Arsenal boss after 22 years in charge.
