St Mirren learn Europa Conference League fate as Saints await first round winners

St Mirren will play the winners of Valur vs KF Vllaznia in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round.

Stephen Robinson's side learned their fate today as the draw was made at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. Saints were among the seeded teams in Group 1 and could have faced SK Brann, BK Häcken, Cliftonville, or the winners of FCB Magpies /Derry City.

But it was confirmed that they'll be on their way to either Iceland or Albania as Valur and KF Vllaznia compete in the first round. The first leg will take place away from home on Thursday July 25, with the second leg being held in Paisley on August 1. Kick off times have still to be confirmed.

It's the first time the Buddies will compete in Europe since 1987/88 after securing a fifth-place finish in the Scottish Premiership last term.
