Stoke City appoint Gary Rowett as manager
Stoke City have appointed Gary Rowett on a three-year deal after agreeing a compensation package with Derby County.
Rowett had been on Stoke's radar for a number of months now, and was their No 1 choice to replace Mark Hughes when he was sacked in January.
But he stayed at Derby, who he took to the play-offs, but after failing to secure promotion to the Premier League he has agreed a deal with Stoke.
Stoke's owners John and Peter Coates said: "We are delighted to be able to move so quickly to secure Gary’s services and we are now looking forward to working with him towards our objective of returning to the Premier League as soon as possible."
