Sunderland are in action when they take on Leeds United in the Championship on Tuesday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having played out a goalless draw on home soil against Bristol City on Saturday, Sunderland head back out onto the road as they head to Elland Road to take on Leeds United on Tuesday.

The Black Cats will be attempting to complete a notable league double over the promotion hopefuls, with Jobe Bellingham’s second-half goal having secured a 1-0 win over Leeds at the Stadium of Light in December.

Sunderland have an excellent recent away record against Leeds, with their last four visits to Elland Road having resulted in three wins and a draw. The two sides’ last meeting at Leeds’ stadium ended in a 1-1 draw in April 2018, with Paddy McNair scoring Sunderland’s goal.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Tuesday’s game kicks off at 8pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – tickets for the away section at Elland Road sold out more than a fortnight ago.

Sunderland will be backed by a travelling contingent of almost 3,000 fans on Tuesday night.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Yes – Tuesday’s game is being televised live on Sky Sports and will be available on the Sky Sports Football channel and via the Sky Sports app.

With the game being broadcast live on TV, there is no domestic streaming available.

Radio coverage of Tuesday’s game will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle, and The Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson will be at Elland Road producing a live blog, report, ratings, reaction and analysis on The Northern Echo’s website.

WHAT IS SUNDERLAND’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Mike Dodds must decide whether to select Aji Alese in the starting line-up, with the defender having made his first appearance since January as he came off the bench in the closing stages of Saturday’s draw with Bristol City.

Alese has completed his recovery from a thigh injury, but Dodds will have to decide whether the defender is ready to feature in the starting line-up. If he does start on Tuesday, he will almost certainly replace former Leeds defender Leo Hjelde at left-back.

Similarly, Dodds could opt to restore Patrick Roberts to the starting side after the winger was also a substitute at the weekend. If Roberts starts, he is likely to replace Chris Rigg on the right-hand side.

Jack Clarke came through Saturday’s draw unscathed as he made his first start since January, and Sunderland’s leading scorer is expected to remain in the side to face Leeds.

Sunderland (probable, 4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Ballard, Alese; Neil, Ekwah; Roberts, Aouchiche, Clarke; Bellingham.

HOW ARE LEEDS SHAPING UP?

Leeds go into Tuesday’s game sitting in third position in the Championship table, a point behind second-placed Ipswich Town and two points adrift of league leaders Leicester City.

Daniel Farke’s side suffered a damaging slip-up at the weekend when they suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at the hands of Coventry City. That was their first league loss of 2024.

Ilia Gruev returned to midfield against Coventry and is expected to retain his place against Sunderland, but Glen Kamara’s place in the starting XI could be vulnerable after he was substituted at half-time at the CBS Arena.

Connor Roberts replaced Kamara against Coventry, with youngster Archie Gray moving into midfield, and Farke could opt for that line-up from the off on Tuesday.

Patrick Bamford led the line against Coventry at the weekend, but Joel Piroe scored after leaving the bench and could get the nod to start against Sunderland.

Leeds (probable, 4-2-3-1): Meslier; Roberts, Rodon, Ampadu, Firpo; Gruev, Gray; James, Rutter, Summerville; Piroe.
