SUPER SUB: Andy comes Goode for Falcons as Ighalo strikes late

Elsewhere in the English top flight, Leicester substitute prop Logovi'i Mulipola crashed over for a try two minutes from time that Tommy Bell converted to ensure they nicked their road trip to Gloucester 19-18.

The two results leave Leicester third in the table after 10 games and Quins fourth, both still trailing leaders Saracens and Exeter Chiefs in second.

Moving into football, Premier League hotshot Odion Ighalo has fast fashioned a big name for himself in European circles with his goalscoring exploits for Watford these past two seasons.

Hornets boss Quique Sánchez Flores rested him for the fourth-round FA Cup trip to Nottingham Forest but, with the game heading for a replay, slung him on for usual strike partner Troy Deeney after 72 minutes.

The Nigerian duly slotted home the winner with one minute left to book Watford a fifth-round tie at home against Leeds United in what is turning out to be a magical season.

Fellow Premier League side Bournemouth had fallen behind 1-0 to Portsmouth on their travels in another Saturday Cup tie when Marc Pugh came on the field in the 62nd minute.

Josh King levelled matters for Eddie Howe’s team on 71 minutes, leaving the stage clear for Pugh to grab the glory seven minutes from time and a fifth-round tie against Everton at home.

Shrewsbury substitutes Scott Vernon and Shaun Whalley both had a hand in a stirring Cup comeback win over Sheffield Wednesday with Whalley equalising late on and Vernon setting up Jack Grimmer for the last-gasp winner seven minutes into added time. Their prize? Manchester United at home. Wow.

Peterborough substitute Jon Taylor forced West Bromwich Albion into a replay they could do without when he made it 2-2 four minutes from time for the right to play at Reading in the next round.

Back in league action, Steve Davies handed Bradford a crucial 2-1 win over Fleetwood in stoppage time to boost their chances of a playoff spot in League One - moments after stepping on to the pitch in the 89th minute.

The Bantams are now on 41 points, three shy of Millwall in sixth however Fleetwood will be looking over their shoulders as they are now just four points from safety at the bottom of the table.

Barnsley sub Josh Scowen helped them to a famous victory at Swindon when he teed up Sam Winnall with two minutes left on the clock to move them into playoff contention as well.

Down in League Two, Danny Galbraith made sure York City fans hit the town with a smile on their faces as he entered the fray 11 minutes from time and bagged a 93rd-minute winner over Stevenage.

They are still bottom of the table, however only on goal difference now from Dagenham and Redbridge while only a few points separate them from Yeovil Town and Hartlepool in the safe spots above.

Up in Scotland, Billy King came on with half an hour left in Rangers’ Scottish Championship clash with Falkirk at Ibrox and finally found the net one minute into injury time for another victory for Mark Warburton’s men.

Over in Holland, Ajax were denied on their travels deep into injury time when substitute Maecky Ngombo met Jordy Buijs’ cross to gift Roda a precious point on their own turf in a 2-2 draw.

The lost points for Ajax now mean PSV Eindhoven have a one-point lead over them at the top of the Eredivisie table with both teams well clear of Feyenoord in third place.

Finally in Germany, Artem Kravets replaced Spurs striker target Timo Werner for Stuttgart and scored the winner against Hamburg two minutes from time to boost their chances of escaping relegation.
